Being Creative with Tsukineko Inks:
Do you have or wonder how to use Tsukineko Inks? Would you like to learn to use both the liquid bottles and the Fabrico Pens? Would you like to know how to create the right colors when you run out of fabrics? Join us and learn the benefits to using Tsukineko water based inks. They are non-toxic, acid free and achievable.
More than 20 techniques are shown using Tsukineko All Purpose Inks and Fabrico Pens. Tsukineko Inks be used on both natural & man made textiles with no special fabric preparation. A few of the techniques covered are Marbling & Drawing on Shaving Cream, Using Silk Screens & Stencils, Using Tone on
Tone & Black & White Fabrics, Lace, Faux Shibori, Salt, Crayons, Rubber Stamps, Aloe Vera.
Tsukineko Inks can also be used on any porous surfaces; wood, leather, tiles, ceramics, pottery & more. No previous experience is needed and it’s fun for all ages. We’ll give you more ides to consider like marbling sneakers and socks and show you many samples to inspire you
Most techniques can be done in class and you will have an opportunity to try these techniques.
Supply list: Wear old clothing. Bring latex gloves if you don’t want to get ink on your hands. (Ink is water based and cleans up with soap & water) 1 large zip lock bag, trash bag, paper towels, tooth picks, can of shaving cream (lightly or non-scented if possible, Dollar Store works best) plastic coffee stirrer from fast food restaurant, popsicle stick or similar tool, small paint brushes, or any other tool you would like to experiment with. You may also bring additional specialty fabrics or clothing to try

Do you love the look of Stained Glass? Are you intimidated by appliqué? Now you can learn a quick, easy and fun way to make stained glass quilts! You will be able to convert stained glass patterns and apply this simple technique. You no longer have to use raw edge, registration marks, paper piecing, reverse appliqué, satin stitching, fusible web, etc. Your quilts will be soft, not stiff. You will learn how to piece, stitch and quilt at the same time reducing your stitching by 50%!, this workshop is fun for everyone, and appropriate for all levels. Bring your sewing machine for full day classes only.

Now you can learn a quick, easy and fun way to appliqué. You will be able to convert appliqué patterns and apply this simple technique. Use patterns from any designer no matter what the method used, or design your own. You no longer have to use raw edge, registration marks, paper piecing, reverse appliqué, satin stitching, fusible web, etc. Your quilts will be soft, not stiff. You will learn how to piece, stitch and quilt at the same time (reduces your stitching by 50 %!). It is quick, fun and easy, with reinforced edges strong enough to use and wash. Quilt-As-You-Go:
Are your quilt blocks different sizes? Quilt tops shift? Trouble finding a large flat surface, with comfortable height to baste your quilt? Learn an easy way to make a large flat & square quilt? This workshop is for you. Discover to prepare & assemble quilt blocks, which will permit you to see all your seams as you sew. No guess work here! Finish, for a perfect way to create large quilted projects easily! The bottom, middle & top of your quilt will all measure the same. Cut on ¼ inch line, square your quilt; add binding for a perfect quilt.
Participants should bring: Pen/pencil/chalk, scissors, rotary cutter & mat, ruler or ruler square (7" square) sewing machine, needle & thread.

MARBLING WITH JACQUARD PAINTS:
Have you ever wondered how they make that beautiful marbled fabric? Are you frustrated in finding the right colors? Have you collected fat quarters that have no common denominator? Now you can learn Create fabric that now matches perfectly to any fabric. Pull colors off those fat quarters to use them in your quilt. Our goal is “To Give Quilters an Artist Pallet”. Quilters Treasure will share with you how their one of kind marble fabric is created. Learn about the products used by the professionals and become familiar with supplies, what to do and what not to do. Why do paint colors react differently and how they affect each other. This is a chance to ask questions & get answers from the professionals.
Break the bonds that limit your creativity. No special talent or experience necessary. All you need is the desire to try new techniques to personalize your quilts. What you learn here can be used in traditional, contemporary or art quilts. This technique can also be used on clothing & interior decorating.
Student Supply List: Shallow tray or Roasting Pan at least 16” x 11” x 2 ½ “deep,(dark pans will not work) a plastic Spray bottle & 10 clothes pins, Small plastic saucer to mix paints, Plastic bag & wax paper to take home wet painted fabric. Household utensils such as: wide tooth comb, volumizing comb, large lift comb, hair picks, skewers or similar tool with wide spread between teeth, toothpicks, any tool you would like to try, etc., Newspaper, Wear old clothing, Thin plastic gloves optional.
NOTE: If you have special fabric that you want to paint on, it must be received by Quilters Treasure 30 days before class so that it can be washed and pre-treated for Marbling process. We have prepared a class which will teach you to, make, use & clean silk screen. Using Tsukineko All Purpose Ink to create solid colors or marbled shaving cream to add dimension to your work, personalize your clothing and/or quilts? It’s easy and works on all fabrics – natural and man-made & no special preparation required. Create your own fabric; provide solutions to making fabrics you have work in your projects. Silk Screen starter kits can be purchased for under $50.00.

Have you seen a picture you though would look great in your project? Do you have a special picture to give as a gift? Would you like to be able to personalize your clothing and/or quilts & home décor? Did you think it would cost too much? Experience white crayon and aloe vela as resists and extenders; add tints, insert ‘missing’ colors, learn to work on colored fabrics without color-bleeding and more. #2 Are your quilt blocks different sizes? Do your quilt tops shift? Do you have trouble finding a flat surface large enough and at a comfortable Height to baste your quilt layers together? If you would like an easy way to make a large quilt that is flat, square and even, then this is the workshop for you. Discover how to prepare and assemble quilt blocks using this “Quilt as You Go” method, which will permit you to see all your seams as you sew. No guess work here! A perfect way to create large quilted projects easily! You can measure the bottom, middle & top of your quilt & they will all measure the same. There will also be a dotted ¼ inch line to cut, which will also square your quilt. Add binding and you have a perfect quilt.
