This series of Green Valley Aquarium are on 8.5” x 11” paper patterns. The samples are made using a 11” x 11” background fabric and are placed in the center outlie creating a 10.5” x 10.5” finished block.
Trace design into fabric using a temporary marker or a mechanical pencil. Samples are on a white tone on tone fabric. If you use a darker fabric you may need to use a light box and/or darken the lines with a black sharpie.
Designs are colored by using Fabrico All Purpose Ink Pens. Image can be colored with a light color pen which will be enhanced by the tone-on-tone fabric. A darker color can be used to design and add contrast.
To finish the block cut a 2 1/2” strip of border fabric. Using 2 different values adds interest and contrast. Sew to the 10.5” x 10.5” finished block and trim to the desired size. Border will be 2 inches wide as a finished size
Use decorative stitches in the border to frame your block.
