This series of Celtic Inspirations are on 11" x 17" paper patterns. The samples are made using a 22" x 22" background fabric and are placed in the center creating an 18" x 18" finished block.
Trace design onto fabric using a temporary marker or a mechanical pencil. Samples are on a white tone on tone fabric. If you use a darker fabric you may need to use a light box and/or darken the lines with a black sharpie.
Designs are colored by using Fabrico All Purpose Ink Pens. Image can be colored with a light color pen which will be enhanced by the tone on tone fabric. A darker color can be used to outline the designs and add contrast.
To finish the block cut a 3" strip of border fabric. Using 2 different values adds interest and contrast. Sew to the 18" x 18" block and trim to the desired size. shown is 2 inches wide finished size, Use decorative stitches in the border to frame your block. Quilt As You Go directions are available and have been used in this sample.
